ColorProof: Plush Lock Leave-in

ColorProof is a new line thats been developed by Jim Markham, one of the most successful founder of four hair care companies. This product line is free of Salts, sulfates, gluten, parabens,  phthalate, and also 100% vegan with biodegradable ingredients. Color proof has anti-fade complex and uva/uvb protection in each individual product. 

Product:

ColorProof PlushLock is a 3 in 1 product.  This product can be used as a heat protector, leave-in conditioner, and smoothing solution to tame frizz. The price ranges from roughly $24-$26.

As soon as I got out of the shower, I toweled dry my hair and applied the Plush lock from the tips of my hair, to my roots. The smell reminds me of vanilla cupcakes. The creamy consistency is light where you could apply it to your roots without it weighing down your hair. This translucent texture will absorb quick in the hair. 

Whenever I use this before I straighten or blow dry my hair, my hair immediately looks more shiny and smooth. A little goes a long way with this cream. For my hair length (up to my hips), I use a bit more than a nickel size amount. From different hair lengths, to thickness and texture, the amount will vary to you're liking.

Macadamia Natural Oil: Deep Repair Masque:

Macadamia Natural Oil is a product line that is enriched with Macadamia oil, and Argon oil. It is also filled with Omega 3, 5 and 7. This product claims to improve shine, elasticity, restore and rebuild hair from its damage state.  For 8.5oz, this masque retails for $36.

Following after shampooing, I squeezed out the excess water out of my hair. I then scooped my fingers inside of the jar to about the second line where my fingers hit. I soon applied the masque from the mid shaft of my hair, to the ends of my hair. After massaging it in for 1 minute, I clipped up my hair and left the product in for about 5 minutes (the direction states to leave it in for 7 minutes) You could also do a deeper treatment by leaving it in 30 minutes to an hour. This product does not contain protein so it will not break your hair overtime.

After rinsing out the product, I could already see a huge difference with my hair. It's so much more shiny, smooth, silky, and tangle-free! The more I use this masque, the  healthier my hair feels. It's not too heavy, and does not leave a heavy residue. This product is ideal for all hair types.

Pureology Fresh Approach Dry Shampoo and Dry Condition:

Dry shampoos are a spray or powder that cleans excess oil and build up without water in between washing of the hair. Less washing = longer lasting color. In this case, Pureology's Dry Shampoo and Dry Conditioner comes in a 4.2oz aerosol can for $24 each. This product is sulfate free, which doesn't dry out the hair. Also, Free of mineral oil, so it doesn't leave the hair feeling heavy. Ideal for all hair types. 

Dry Shampoo: I started to apply the spray to my roots where my part is, and the sides of my hair where I see excess oil. Immediately, I noticed that this has a very strong smell. It bothered me a little at first but I started to get used to it. It smells like a strong perfume, I just cant pin point what kind of note it has. It was a plus for me since if you use it on a day you're not going to wash your hair, it makes your hair smell more fresh and clean. After a few hours, the smell starts to fade. This dry shampoo is  also translucent which is great since I have darker hair. As I brushed out the product, it didn't feel heavy like there was a residue in my hair and no flaking. 

The Dry Condition nourishes the hair in between washing. This lightweight product is designed to use in the mid-shaft of hair to the ends of hair. It has orange oil to condition, adds shine, and soften the hair. The Dry Condition also revives hair like you just washed it! It leaves the hair with a satin finish so the hair looks more healthy.

Alterna Caviar 3 Minute Shine Boost:

Alterna 3 minute shine boost is a light weight, shine enhancing treatment. This product has no Sulfates, Parabens, Synthetic dyes, GMO,Triclosan, and Phthalates, like most of Alterna hair care products. For 5.1oz, this product retails for roughly $26. It claims to recharge hair color and give hair brilliant shine. (similar to salon glaze treatments) 

The directions states to use on wet hair. I actually used it two ways and compared the difference between results. Most hair treatments are used on damp hair, after shampooing.

The first attempt, after shampooing, I squeezed out the extra water from my hair and put the product on my roots to the tips as directed. I then start to rub the solution in my hair and clipped my hair up. I realized that as soon as I rubbed it in, the product melts right in my hair. It isn't like thick masques where you could see exactly where you applied the product. The consistency after I rubbed it in was almost like a light milky texture. I waited 3 minutes and rinsed it out. It has a really light and clean smell. Sometimes using too much on the roots will make the hair feel a little heavy. At the end, I feel like my hair felt a little drier than normal. Since the product isn't so thick, I felt like I had to use a lot more product for my long hair. 

Second Attempt: 

On dry hair, I mixed my regular hair mask with the shine boost and rubbed it in my hair. This time, I only applied the product from my ears and down. I waited 30 minutes and rinsed my hair. After shampooing, I made my hair feel very soft and shiny. If you try out a product once and didn't like it, try to find another way to apply it.

If you have fine hair, and not too dry..I think this product would suit your hair better.
